I am organising a walk from Bournemouth Pier to Boscombe Pier. We will be meeting up at 2.30 and setting off at 3pm we are asking people to bring a picnic so we can sit down at Boscombe Pier and enjoy a picnic. We will be walking rain or shine but lets hope the sun will shine for us. I've named the event Pier to Pier for the Autism Trust.
My nephew Isaiah is Autistic and he lives in Las Vegas. My brother and sisters do a walk every year for Autism Speaks but as they live in the USA I can't walk with them. So I was looking to do a walk and realised that there really aren't many events for Autism in this country so as it is my 40th on the 9th September and most of my family are coming over I thought I'd organise this so we can walk as a family. Unfortunately my brother and nephew can't make it as travelling all that distance with my nephew would be quite a challenge as he is severely Autistic and as I'm sure you know people aren't very understanding.
I think the work The Autism Trust is doing for Autistic people is fabulous. I often wonder what the future will hold for Isaiah and the ideas that you have about the future for autistic people is amazing. I really want to support such a worthy cause. I hope I can help raise alot of money and hope that if this is successful then it's something we can do at least once a year.
We are asking for a minimum donation of £5 per adult and £1 per child they can donate on the day or through Just Giving below:
